The combinations are guide, e.g.  if you weigh 62 Kg. can choose the combination 1, for a first contact and a break softer adaptable or the combination 2, for a first soft contact and a break firmer.

They are the invisible soul of the mattress. On their tireless dynamic and elasticity rests refreshing, deep sleep. The Opus and Mythos pocket-spring mattresses are the absolute super stars o the highly select Schramm collection. After winding, the spring are hardened in a thermal furnace, which makes them resistant to fatigue and overstressing. Depending on individual weight, weight distribution and sleeping habits, springs of varying strength are active inside a mattress. And because each individual 6-coil spring is hand-sewn into its own pocket, it can respond almost independently form the adjacent springs closely molding itself to the contours of the body and conform to body movements -inch by inch. The pelvis, for example, represents about 40% of the weight of the human body. It must be supported more than the legs or waist, in order to compensate for pressure and relieve strain on the spine and muscles.

Especially for side sleepers, w have developed a patented shoulder zone.

Low-tension springs allow the shoulders to gently sink into the mattress, and a highly elastic cotton/Lycra fabric (96% cotton) incorporated into the shoulder zone further relaxes shoulder muscles. Thus, finely differentiated elastic forces are correctly distributed to all parts of the body: Highly elastic but not soft; strong but not hard.

Individual body weight is also considered. Schramm offers five different options for the Mythos and Opus models: An overall high degree of flexibility, with varying spring tension.

For three generations Schramm has been producing pocket-spring mattresses with heat-tempered bedsprings. This means that the steel wire of the Mythos and Opus models, after being wound, is heated in the oven at almost 1100 degrees Fahrenheit.

The purpose of this process is to restore the spring's original molecular structure, which was altered during the winding process.

After treatment, the spring becomes highly elastic, is able to withstand high loads, and remains dynamic and elastic.

The springs are also de-magnetised and form a balance of forces inside the mattress that corresponds to the magnetic field of the earth.
